With an exposed nest creating a wide area for the fish to defend, some – such as the titan triggerfish – are known for their aggression towards intruders. The Clown triggerfish. The Clown triggerfish has got to be one of my favourite fish on the reef and is always incredibly relaxed. These little fish have trigger-like spines on the tops of their bodies that will pop when threatened, but they use it more like an anchor than anything else, locking them into small spaces to stop predators from getting to them.
