The two historic water intake towers near the Chain of Rocks Bridge are a beautiful landmark at the north end of St Louis county. Unfortunately, they are in desperate need of some repairs. The chimney has partially collapsed on both towers. Stones have crashed through the roof on Tower 2. The roof seems a bit more substantial on Tower 1 but there are signs of decay when you look up close. Unfortunately, the two towers are in swift waters which makes just accessing the towers extremely difficult.
